Role Title: People Business Partner
Reporting To: Directors
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Job Summary
You will be expected to provide and establish policy and procedure guidance and support to internal stakeholders across the full employee lifecycle. Be responsible for the timely resolution of all transactional queries and will work closely with the Managing Director and Operations Manager on a day-to-day basis. Enact in the management of all aspects of employee relations, creating and maintaining accurate records, reports and documentation. You will drive a positive workplace culture, promoting EDI and wellbeing across all people practices.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Liaising with the Managing Director on business strategies and people challenges, plans and structures to assist in development of SLT and key collaborators.
- Provide support and challenge to Operations Manager and management team in maximising people capability to drive performance and delivery of objectives.
- Develop plans for recruitment, training, restructuring and succession, and helping relevant staff implement them.
- Manage people related issues in line with company guidelines, legal requirements and ethical considerations.
- Analyse people data and metrics - comparing results to key performance indicators.
- Coaching line managers on employee relations and performance management.
- Improving, implementing and administering HR policies and procedures. Ensuring alignment with current legislation, company terms and conditions, and industry best practices.
- Implementing programs to improve the employee experience of the organisation as a workplace.
- Drive employee engagement in collaboration with department leads to improve individual contribution.
- Drive and encourage health and safety best practices – collaborating on occupational health referrals when required.
- Accurately maintain employee records.
- Prepare and issue monthly summary reporting of trends, results and the ‘People’ development program for the period ahead.
- Administer a systematic approach to L&D, supporting the function with training matrices and reports.
- Provide up-to-date information on changing legislation and the effects on employment relations.
- Manage, support and promote positive workplace health and wellbeing, and EDI.
- Undertake generalist people responsibilities; performing ad hoc duties as required to support business requirements.
Skills & Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in the manufacturing sector.
- CIPD Level 5.
- Relationship management, especially at managerial and collaborator levels.
- Business management, including financial management and strategic planning.
- Verbal and written communication, including active listening, for determining business goals and suggesting ways to achieve them through human resource initiatives.
- Logic, analytics and problem-solving for evaluating business metrics and determining ways to improve results.
- Comprehensive understanding of employment laws.
- Comprehensive understanding of the industry, focus area and business trends.
