We are looking for a Private Client Tax Senior Manager or Director to join our team. We are flexible on location within Scotland or our Newcastle office.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will lead a mixed experienced team consisting of both part qualified and experienced Tax professionals. The setup consists of Assistants, Assistant Managers and Managers. As Senior Manager / Director you will be expected to manage the Management team in a way that not only services clients but allows our part qualified team members under Manager's responsibility to flourish and grow and ultimately become the managers of tomorrow.
The Senior Tax Manager/Director will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Manage client portfolios, build on existing relationships with clients and their wider professional network to ensure satisfaction with services provided, collaborating with clients, client staff and identifying opportunities to support them further.
- Provision of high level technical and tax planning advice to clients, working as necessary with others.
- Involvement with day-to-day team operations, ensuring internal and external expectations are achieved, such as supporting the leadership team in setting and delivering the strategic targets.
- Maintaining an up-to-date technical knowledge of business tax, personal tax and capital taxes.
- Mentoring, training, support and work delegation to team members as well as overseeing them in all aspects of the portfolio, ensuring deadlines and demands are met by the wider client engagement team offering feedback as/when required.
- Liaising with the client service team and with colleagues in other disciplines to provide a co-ordinated service to the clients.
- Managing a diverse portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring a high quality tax compliance service.
- Develop and grow the department and the firm by identifying and progressing opportunities to promote the business in the marketplace, sourcing new opportunities and securing new work, with the support of the wider senior management team and Business Development team.
- Ensuring compliance with internal (tax methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements.
About You
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to positively impact and influence others.
- Ability to work to a high standard of technical service delivery to clients.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Practical knowledge of compliance and advisory work with the ability to support the wider team/firm to supply advice to clients when required.
- Relevant experience in this role is preferred.
- Qualified CA (or equivalent) and above.
- A leader of your work and your professional learning.
