We are looking for a Learning and Development Advisor to join our team in Edinburgh.

Join our Learning & Development team and play a key role in delivering impactful development opportunities that help our people grow, thrive, and perform at their best.
The role
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You’ll support the delivery of learning programmes across the firm, ensure a seamless learner experience, and work closely with stakeholders to coordinate training activity from start to finish. The Learning and Development Advisor will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Manage and coordinate the JC Aspire programme, delivering a high-quality learning experience from planning through to delivery.
- Own the learning management system (LMS), keeping content current and supporting learners to get the most from the platform.
- Run the induction programme, creating a smooth, engaging onboarding experience for new joiners.
- Support delivery of the Line Manager Essentials programme and help develop impactful learning resources.
- Manage the shared L&D mailbox, providing responsive support and clear communication across the firm.
- Coordinate People Advisory initiatives, ensuring programmes run smoothly and efficiently.
- Spot opportunities to improve processes, colleague experience and learning impact.
- Support the mentor programme and lead the newly qualified programme.
- Own and enhance L&D content on our intranet, keeping resources relevant and accessible.
- Contribute to wider People Experience projects and alumni engagement activity.
About you:
- Previous experience in a learning and development role is essential.
- Experience using and managing a learning management system.
- Previous experience in the designing and delivering of training initiatives would be advantageous but not essential.
- Strong organisation and advisory skills with the ability to influence others.
- Ability to be agile and deliver at pace as well as managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and recommend practical solutions.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
