Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh or Newcastle
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for managing accounts preparation work for a portfolio of internally and externally audited companies; and overseeing the preparation of complex consolidated financial statements.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the accounts are prepared to a high standard and are delivered to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
You will manage and train junior staff in order to promote their continual development.
You will be working closely with Directors and Partners to ensure that assignments are carried out effectively from start to finish and in accordance with the firm’s policies and procedures as well as supporting with the roll out of the department’s further strategic ambitions aimed at embracing technology and innovation.
- The Financial Reporting Advisory Manager will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Planning and managing the effective, professional and efficient delegation, flow-through and completion of statutory financial statements for a portfolio of audited (medium and large sized) clients in accordance with both UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Preparation of complex consolidation models and financial statements, using Microsoft Word, Excel and CCH Accounts Production software.
- Maintaining up to date technical knowledge of Financial Reporting and related matters.
- Providing high level technical advice to clients.
- Supporting the Directors in the delivery of advisory work as required.
- Managing and supporting junior staff to achieve their goals and objectives by ensuring that they are developing their skills and capabilities.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contacts and colleagues.
- Working closely with the relevant internal departments to ensure that accounts work is handled efficiently and effectively from start to finish and is done in accordance with the firm's policies and procedures.
- Being the principal contact for clients on day to day financial reporting matters.
- Actively monitoring and managing your work including ensuring that deadlines and budgets are met, work is completed to a high standard and communication is effective both within the team and with our clients.
- Taking an active role in your own development by seeking regular feedback and identifying and acting upon personal development needs.
- Supporting the department in its growth and strategic objectives.
About You
- You will be a qualified CA or have a suitable equivalent qualification or experience.
- You will have experience with UK statutory accounts preparation for audited (non-small) companies and preparation of consolidations.
- You will have in-depth knowledge of – and be motivated by working with –UK GAAP as well as a general understanding of IFRS reporting framework and the relevant requirements of UK Company Law in relation to financial statements.
- Experience with CCH Accounts Production is desired but not mandatory.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to positively impact and influence others.
- Experience in supervising or managing staff and passionate about assisting their development.
- You will also have good organisational skills and be pro-active in your approach to your work.
