Ready to build a specialist career in one of the UK's fastest growing areas of Financial Services assurance?

We are seeking an experienced CASS Audit Senior or Supervisor to join our expanding CASS Audit team, working with a wide range of FCA regulated firms, from innovative fintechs and startups to established wealth managers and investment firms.

Led by Gillian Boston, a member of the ICAEW Financial Services Faculty CASS Working Group and Committee Member of the Scottish CASS Forum, our team is recognised for its technical expertise, industry profile and thought leadership within the CASS community. This is an opportunity to work directly with recognised industry leaders, gain exposure to complex and varied CASS engagements, and develop expertise within a niche area of Financial Services where demand for experienced professionals continues to grow.

Whether your ambition is to deepen your technical specialism, take on greater responsibility, or progress into management, you will be supported by a team that is committed to developing the next generation of CASS specialists. As our practice continues to grow, you will have the opportunity to build a highly sought after skillset, establish yourself as a recognised CASS professional and play a meaningful role in shaping the future of our market leading team.

What You Will Do

You will take ownership of CASS Audit engagements from planning through to completion, delivering high quality work while building strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading audit fieldwork and managing day to day client interactions.
  • Delivering assignments to budget, deadline and quality expectations.
  • Coaching and supporting junior team members.
  • Identifying and resolving audit and regulatory issues.
  • Preparing robust, review ready audit files.
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of CASS and FCA requirements.
  • Supporting business development and identifying opportunities with existing clients.
  • Building strong relationships across clients and colleagues.

About You

We are looking for an ambitious and technically strong individual who is keen to develop their career within a growing specialist Financial Services team.

You will ideally have:

  • CA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification (or be close to qualifying).
  • Audit experience gained in practice.
  • Knowledge of Financial Services and FCA regulated businesses.
  • CASS audit experience or a strong interest in developing this specialism.
  • Experience within wealth management, investment management, platforms, stockbroking or related sectors.
  • Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach and commitment to exceptional client service.

Why Johnston Carmichael?

At Johnston Carmichael, you will combine the opportunities of a national firm with the visibility, responsibility and career progression that comes from being part of a specialist and high growth team. You will have direct exposure to senior leaders, exposure to complex and rewarding client engagements and clear progression opportunities. You will benefit from hands on mentoring and development, and have the opportunity to accelerate your progression in a specialist area where skilled professionals remain in high demand.

What you can expect:

  • Hybrid and flexible working.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Structured learning and development programmes.
  • Clear progression opportunities.
  • Access to our JC Aspire and Leadership Development programmes.
  • Exposure to a diverse portfolio of Financial Services clients.
  • The opportunity to develop within one of the UK's recognised specialist CASS teams.

With more than 900 colleagues across the UK and membership of the Moore Global network, you will have the support, resources and opportunities to grow your career while working with businesses across the UK.
