We are looking for an experienced and proactive Marketing Manager to support the delivery of our go-to-market strategies across Johnston Carmichael’s priority and established sectors.
Location is flexible within our Scottish or Newcastle offices. This role is central to bringing our marketing strategy to life — translating sector priorities into impactful campaigns, initiatives, and activity that support growth, strengthen relationships, and enhance our presence in the market.
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Sector marketing planning and delivery
- Develop and deliver detailed marketing plans aligned to sector strategies
- Lead the planning and execution of campaigns, events, and communications
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality approach across all activity
- Campaign development and execution
- Translate strategy into targeted, insight-led campaigns across all areas of the marketing mix – events, digital, PR and brand campaigns
- Work with internal teams and external partners to deliver activity across multiple channels
- Ensure campaigns are aligned to commercial objectives and audience needs
- Supporting commercial outcomes
- Identifying opportunities for cross-sell through campaigns and content
- Supporting targeted activity to drive sector growth
- Contributing to activity that strengthens win rates, including targeted campaigns and insights
- Managing tenders and proposals as needed, supported by the wider Marketing team
- Insight, data and optimisation
- Use analytics to support targeting, monitor performance, and improve effectiveness of activity
- Provide insight and recommendations to refine and improve marketing plans
- Stakeholder management
- Build strong working relationships with Partners, Directors, Senior Managers, and wider teams
- Act as the day-to-day marketing lead for allocated sectors
- Ensure stakeholders are engaged, informed, and supported
- Coaching and team contribution
- Support and coach less experienced members where appropriate
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture
- Share ideas and continuously look to improve how we deliver marketing
About you
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Experience in a Marketing Manager role within professional services or a B2B environment
- Proven track record of developing and delivering marketing plans and campaigns aligned to business objectives
- Strong knowledge of marketing trends, best practices, and innovative approaches
- Analytical and data-driven, with experience using insights to optimise performance
- Experience using CRM systems for targeting, reporting, and continuous improvement
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Proactive and results-focused, with a strong sense of ownership and initiative
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to act as a trusted marketing partner
- Collaborative team player who supports colleagues and contributes to a high-performance culture.
