Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Corporate Tax Senior Manager and Corporate Tax Manager to join our Large Corporates team. Preferred location: Aberdeen, Edinburgh or Newcastle.

Job Purpose: A role in our Large Corporate tax team will put you front and centre of our clients’ ambitions. We provide tailored tax advisory and compliance services for large companies, helping them to navigate complex tax regulations and ensuring compliance, tax optimisation and efficiency. We handle the specific and broad-ranging tax needs of large corporates, helping them to reduce liabilities, mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities through strategic planning. It’s a role with diverse requirements and huge learning opportunities, firmly rooted in a spirit of partnership with our clients.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Providing technical tax advice on a range of issues impacting Large Corporates, including corporate interest restriction, other issues regarding the tax deductibility of interest, tax loss utilisation, hybrid considerations and other international matters such as controlled foreign companies and double tax relief claims.
  • Supporting on delivery of tax due diligence assignments.
  • Managing a small corporate tax compliance portfolio of key Large Corporate clients, reviewing the work of junior colleagues to ensure our clients’ compliance needs are dealt with timeously and quality of service is maintained.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and intermediaries, providing excellent client service and identifying opportunities to provide value-added services.
  • Collaborating with wider firm colleagues to deliver a seamless client experience, including those in Audit, Transaction Taxes, VAT/indirect taxes, Innovation Taxes and Entrepreneurial Taxes.
  • Monitoring changes in tax legislation and communicate the impact of these changes to clients and colleagues.
  • Supporting and promoting continual development of junior colleagues through training, coaching and provision of timely developmental feedback.

About You:

  • A highly experienced Tax professional.
  • Relevant experience in this or a similar corporate tax focussed role is preferred.
  • A leader of your work and your professional learning.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to positively impact and influence others.
  • Qualified CA and/or CTA (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Experience of line management/coaching in an advisory setting is desirable.
