We are currently seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the Engineering Department and oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of plant, buildings, and equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring operational reliability, compliance with legislation, and the achievement of departmental performance targets.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring all mechanical, electrical, plant, equipment, and building issues are addressed promptly and effectively
  • Carrying out and overseeing safety checks and statutory testing as required
  • Ensuring mechanical, electrical, and steam systems comply with current legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Developing and managing a planned preventive maintenance programme to maximise equipment uptime and minimise downtime
  • Monitoring energy usage and reporting on consumption and efficiency
  • Advising on the most effective solutions for repairs, upgrades, new installations, and equipment replacement
  • Organising and overseeing the installation and commissioning of new process equipment
  • Producing maintenance plans, reports, and accurate records as required
  • Recruiting, training, and developing engineering staff, including ongoing skills development and performance reviews
  • Promoting staff welfare and leading by example within the engineering team
  • Undertaking ad‑hoc duties as required to support operational needs
