We are currently seeking a Transport Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operation of the Transport Department, ensuring delivery and collection services are carried out efficiently, safely, and in line with customer commitments and business targets. This role is key to maintaining high service standards, legal compliance, and effective team performance within the transport function.
Please note – this role requires any applicant to hold a valid CPC and 7.5-ton Licence.
The role involves:
- Supervising transport operations and managing driver performance.
- Ensuring compliance with transport legislation and company standards.
- Ensuring daily loading and unloading of vehicles and the delivery and return of items in line with customer agreements.
- Ensuring vehicles and associated equipment are inspected, maintained, and repaired in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and current legislation.
- Ensuring full compliance with Operator's Licence requirements at all times.
- Providing route cover when required to maintain service continuity.
- Planning and organising delivery routes in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
- Building and maintaining positive customer relationships and acting as a liaison between customers and the business.
- Delivering ongoing training, development, and performance reviews for transport staff.
- Promoting staff welfare and maintaining a positive working environment.
- Undertaking ad-hoc duties as required to support transport operations.
