Johnsons Hotel Linen is one of the UKs largest laundry and linen hire companies, suppliers to the hotel industry, servicing high quality Hotels across England and Wales. We are seeking a talented individual to join us as Van Driver to strengthen our Transport team.
The Role:
- Carry out deliveries to hotels as and when requested by the Transport Manager and/or offices.
- Maintain Vans on a daily/weekly basis and ensure that vehicles are always clean and road worthy/legal.
- Maintain regular and constant contact with the Transport Manager and/or office.
- Deliver and collect clean and soiled linen, which will involve manual handling hamper bags up and down stairs at delivery points.
- Represent the Company in a professional manner, being polite and courteous towards all customers.
- Keep the inside of your vehicle clean and dispose of any rubbish in the bins provided in the yard.
- Ensure that vehicles are always left overnight at the production facility as company insurance requires all vehicles to be left in secure premises.
- Complete a daily safety check on your vehicle prior to leaving the depot to check key maintenance issues including tyres, levels and lights; wear Hi-Vis jacket and other safety equipment on site and at customer premises.
- Ensure that Yard Safety is of paramount importance and work with line management to challenge any Safety concerns or issues.
- Work with the transport team to manage & co-ordinate offloading of soiled cages by route and linen type.
- Organise Empty Available Cages.
- Bring cages into the building to keep sorting area fully supplied with soiled cages.
- Record any near misses that occur in the Yard.
- Support the loading and unloading of 18T vehicles with clean or soiled linen when required.
- Act as Banksman in the Yard; training will be provided.
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
The position covers a variety of shift patterns and the successful candidate must be prepared to be flexible in your approach to working hours including weekends. Start times will vary and will include weekend working.
