Job Description

Job Role

Moving household and office furniture and other items to new premises or storage, working in small to large teams.

This role is zero-hours with potential for permanent employment after 6 months, contingent upon performance, ability, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Household and office removals or relocations
• Handling goods for storage or retrieval
• Managing specialist projects like hospital, library, or school equipment moves
• Moving fine art and furniture

Day-to-Day Tasks

• Safely packaging items for removal or storage
• Wrapping and protecting furniture for shipping, including overseas
• Pre-move wrapping and packing delicate items like china, glass, artwork, and antiques
• Using packaging to safeguard fragile items such as computers or antiques
• Disassembling large furniture for transport
• Dismantling curtains and removing carpets if necessary
• Removing doors, door frames, or windows to facilitate large item movement
• Packing, loading, and securing items in vehicles
• Ensuring goods are secure before transportation
• Driving to the new location, unloading, reassembling, and placing items as instructed
• Unwrapping furniture and unpacking cartons

Requirements

Flexible working hours as needed, including potential overnight stays for longer-distance moves. A driving license is preferred. Experience in removals or similar roles is advantageous.
