Water/Wastewater Design Engineer
Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is a dynamic, 100% employee-owned consulting firm with over 2,400 professionals, providing multidisciplinary engineering, architecture, IT, and related services across the U.S. Ranked #50 on ENR\’s Top 500 Design Firms, we are seeking a career-minded Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will work with experienced project managers on projects including sewer studies, rehabilitation, new sewer design, water distribution, treatment, and pump stations in the Mid-Atlantic. Responsibilities include delivering quality engineering evaluations and designs efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction.
Compensation: $38-42/hour, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications. This position does not qualify for employer sponsorship except for TN visas.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop construction plans and specifications.
- Assist in developing technical evaluation memoranda.
- Prepare engineering cost estimates.
- Create design drawings using 3D tools.
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, build team relationships, and maintain positive interactions.
- Familiarity with hydraulic design, water/wastewater treatment processes, engineering economics, specifications, and report writing.
- Organized with excellent communication skills; flexible to meet tight schedules.
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, ArcGIS, MS Project is a plus.
Required Experience
- Bachelor\’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- 0-4 years of experience.
Preferred Experience
- Passing score on NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
- 2-4 years related experience.
