The role:
We are seeking a Production Planning Supervisor who will be responsible for providing outstanding service and supply chain expertise for the production operations within the PGMS UK business. You will have 5 direct reports in this role.
The main focus of the role is to drive an efficient and effective flow of materials through Operation with the aim of hitting monthly targets, controlling PGM inventory and reducing the Precious Metal backlog position. This will be a leading position in the Production planning of chemical products.
As the Production Planning Supervisor, you will help drive our goals by:
- Own and maintain a rough-cut capacity model in collaboration with planners, with a monthly time frame.
- Work closely with planners, operations, and technical teams from each area to develop detailed capacity modelling. This involves creating daily and weekly capacity models, with a timeline of 1-2 weeks for daily bucket planning and 3-12 weeks for weekly bucket planning.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager to identify and develop the necessary master data required for Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
- Focus on improving the Master Production Schedule (MPS) process to ensure effective production scheduling.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
- Previous experience driving change through data
- Understanding ways of working and how to implement change in other teams and areas of the business
- Experience in Production Control
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong Health and Safety awareness
- Experienced and advanced user of IT systems including MS suite
