As a Metallurgist/Materials Scientist, you\’ll contribute to JM\’s mission as a world leader in sustainable technology, transforming energy and reducing carbon emissions for a cleaner, brighter future.
The role:
As a Metallurgist/Materials Scientist, you will help drive our goals by:

  • Demonstrates compliance to all EHS standards in the factory and Industrial Materials laboratory, review and manage EHS
    documentation including process deviations, management of change, COSHH and Risk Assessments
  • Lead and manage projects and regularly report project updates by writing monthly reports, presenting in meetings and project
    reports
  • Hold expertise in PGM physical metallurgy and provide technical support to projects within R&D and production teams
  • Bring new ideas for improving/introducing new products and processes
  • Be innovative and offer solutions to resolve customer problems
  • Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role :

  • PhD in Materials Science, Metallurgy or related subject
  • Strong understanding of physical/powder metallurgy
  • Relevant industrial experience in related field to metallurgy
  • Knowledge of metal manufacturing/processing methods e.g. casting, forging, rolling, drawing, etc.
  • Good knowledge of metal properties and their industrial applications
