As an External Communications Specialist, you’ll contribute to JM’s mission as a world leader in sustainable technology, transforming energy and reducing carbon emissions for a cleaner, brighter future.
The role: As an External Communications Specialist, you will help drive our goals by:
- Supporting media engagement by handling media queries, coordinating responses, and contributing to crisis monitoring and the 24/7 on‑call rota.
- Drafting, editing, and proofreading press releases, talking points, Q&A documents, and speaking notes for senior leaders.
- Coordinating the external content calendar and managing stakeholder inputs, approvals, and version control across multiple teams.
- Maintaining delivery trackers, publishing logs, media metrics, and reporting dashboards to support smooth campaign execution.
- Supporting logistics for media activities and continuously improving publishing workflows, processes, and communications governance.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
- A background in Communications, Administration, or Digital Media, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to manage scheduling and logistics under pressure.
- A responsive, service‑focused approach with the ability to support fast‑moving communications activity.
- Effective collaboration skills, working well with teams across functions and maintaining smooth coordination.
- Familiarity with publishing tools, formatting standards, brand guidelines, and accessibility principles, with an awareness of values‑based and emotionally intelligent communication.
