You’ll help tackle the world’s biggest challenges - cutting emissions, powering modern society and enhancing lives - as we continue to apply, refine and recycle metals that matter, for a healthier and more resilient future.
The role:
- Ensure both their own and the team’s compliance to all relevant legislative and local EHS requirements and behavioural standards.
- To ensure the Quality Systems, especially ISO17025 are adhered to by all members of the Team.
- To co-ordinate the activities of the Evaluation Team to enable it to fulfil its purpose, to supply a reliable analytical service to deliver required accuracy and precision and required delivery times at or better than budget cost performance.
- Comply with and always ensure the team’s compliance with best working practice (standard procedures), to include all local reporting requirements.
- To encourage and help train all members of the team to develop their skills and knowledge whilst working together towards meeting their goals and objectives and monitor performance versus the standard. Ensure PDPs are produced for all personnel and there is full engagement in the talent review process.
- Support the assessment & management of the performance and behaviour of individuals against company standards, values and relevant legislation, including recording and communication of same. Specifically including health capability process, any disciplinary actions, talent reviews, and the formal performance management process.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
- Degree or HNC in Chemistry or related subject as a minimum
- Demonstrable experience of effective leadership of people
- Strong safety awareness
- Experience of Analytical Chemistry
- Experience of working with performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Understanding of the requirements of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO17025
