The predicted salary is between 18500 - 25000 £ per year.

At Johnson Matthey, your work will matter. As an Electrical Apprentice, you'll join a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history. Using advanced metals chemistry, you'll help tackle the world's biggest challenges – cutting emissions, powering modern life and supporting life‑saving technologies – by applying, refining and recycling metals that matter for a healthier, more sustainable, circular future.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the electrical maintenance team with planned and reactive maintenance activities
  • Assisting with fault finding on electrical systems, motors, control panels and plant equipment
  • Following safe systems of work, including electrical isolation and permit procedures
  • Developing skills in electrical testing, inspection and control systems through supervised practice
  • Completing apprenticeship coursework and maintaining an up-to‑date development portfolio

Due to the nature of this role applicants must be non‑smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of four GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A–C, including Maths, English and Science
  • A genuine interest in electrical or practical engineering subjects
  • Strong safety awareness and a responsible approach to working in an industrial environment
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
