Dispensing & Packing Lead

Location: Royston, UK

The role:

As a Dispensing & Packing Lead, you will help drive our goals by:

  • Build and lead a collaborative department while improving safety, awareness, equipment, and regulatory compliance; manage security, risk registers, and ensure timely completion of corrective actions; maintain clear and engaging communication with all staff.
  • Oversee daily operations to meet customer deadlines; manage inventory and stock control; develop systems to streamline order processing and the supply chain; optimize workload schedules for efficient production and delivery.
  • Implement and sustain continuous improvement projects using Lean tools; standardize processes; reduce waste, lead times, and customer complaints; deliver measurable financial savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Support team development through multiskilling, goal setting, training, and performance management; ensure adequate staffing and capability; collaborate with HR and commercial teams to meet production targets and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role :

  • Proven leadership experience in operational settings, preferably in chemical or clean room environments, with strong cross-functional collaboration and strategic relationship-building skills.
  • Successfully delivered improvement and engineering projects through to completion, utilizing structured problem-solving, root cause analysis, and data/statistical interpretation.
  • Skilled in operations and management IT systems, supported by a degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Planning and organisation with a strong track record of delivery
