As a Development Plant Technician, you will contribute to JM's mission as a world leader in sustainable technology, transforming energy and reducing carbon emissions for a cleaner, brighter future.

The role:

  • Assisting in trials, equipment commissioning, continuous improvement and safe operation of the Culham Plant
  • Support the development activity of new components, products and processes by executing trials/experiments under guidance of Engineers and Scientists, collecting relevant data and generating accurate reports.
  • Support the testing and commissioning of development plant equipment.
  • Follow trial plans, drawings, procedures and control plans to ensure high quality standards
  • Prepare and contribute to documentation.
  • Support root cause analysis of process upsets (e.g. 5 Whys) and implementation of action plans.
  • Proactively work within the Development Plant team and with the Technology Team onsite to provide ideas and suggestions for improving the operation, service and contribution made by the team to the success of the Business.

Key skills/qualifications that will help you succeed in this role:

  • Educated to a minimum of A-level or equivalent in a science or engineering subject
  • Demonstrated experience of working within a team on projects
  • Manufacturing experience in light industry using semi-automated equipment
  • Knowledge of Component Assembly or printing or coating processes (Desirable)
  • Computer literate, specifically use of Excel spreadsheets and accurate data entry (Desirable)
  • Training or experience in the manufacture of Electrolyser or Fuel Cell or similar components (Desirable)
