The role:

As a Chemical Engineering Industrial Placement Student you will help drive our goals by:

  • Contribute to projects and development tasks involving leading technologies, ensuring adherence to JM health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.
  • Take responsibility for accurate calculations, datasheets and drawings that define process engineering requirements.
  • Develop Basic Engineering Packages including heat and mass balances, process specifications, P&IDs and process safety and hydraulic designs.
  • Execute process engineering design activities to schedule and budget, supporting the business with quality technical advice for customers and suppliers.

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

  • Currently studying an IChemE‑accredited MEng Chemical Engineering course with a placement year option.
  • Passionate about applying chemical engineering to development, design and operations in the chemical industry.
  • Demonstrates strong safety awareness, adaptability, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
