The role:

As a Operator I: Entry Level Operator you will help drive our goals by:

  • Take responsibility for personal safety by following JM’s safe working practices, PPE guidelines, and contributing to a safe, healthy work environment, including reporting incidents and unsafe conditions.
  • Follow all relevant process documentation (e.g., risk analyses, process instructions, standard work) and complete batch sheets and handovers to ensure smooth, continuous production.
  • Support operations by performing skilled operator tasks, adhering to production schedules, conducting basic preventative maintenance, and carrying out duties as directed by the Production Lead.
  • Drive continuous improvement by upholding 5S standards, collaborating with team members, suggesting process improvements, participating in failure investigations, and identifying plant reliability issues.

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a minimum of 4 GCSEs (A*-C) including English, Maths, and Science
  • 2 A-Levels (or equivalent) in engineering or science and experience in chemical, engineering, or manufacturing fields are beneficial but not required
  • Should understand large-scale manufacturing facilities and the importance of EHS
  • Must demonstrate strong safety focus, teamwork, positive attitude, motivation, attention to detail, and commitment to learning
  • Requires strong communication skills, flexibility, integrity, and the ability to work accurately, efficiently, and meet deadlines

Due to the nature of this role applicants must be non-smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months

WORKING HOURS – 12-hour day and night shifts including weekends and bank holidays on a 2s and 3s shift pattern
