As a Production Process Control Engineer you will contribute to Johnson Matthey’s mission to accelerate the transition to net‑zero by managing PGM and non‑PGM coating processes on each line within Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all local environmental, health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Lead optimization of process parameters to improve cycle times, minimize rejects, reduce waste and downtime while meeting manufacturing plans.
  • Interact with Maintenance, Washcoat, Quality, Process Engineering and Automation teams to solve process or equipment problems and ensure proper operation of all equipment on the production lines.
  • Support implementation of new technologies through new procedures and training of personnel, while suggesting procedural or process improvements to increase plant performance.
  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement, driving efficiencies and standards.
  • Identify and implement best practice principles.
  • Ensure product meets customer specifications and collect/process production data (process control data, shift summaries, incident reports, maintenance requests etc.).
  • Participate in and possibly lead Lean Manufacturing teams such as Kaizen or 5S.
  • Ensure effective utilization of coating solutions to minimize waste.
  • Maintain all documentation according to the Quality Management System and provide weekly/monthly reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience and training.
  • Strong mechanical, analytical, and technical skills.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods for data analysis.
  • 2+ years production and/or catalyst manufacturing experience.
  • 1+ year batch process experience (preferred).
  • Desire to optimize processes and improve performance.
