Johnson Law Group (JLG) is an international claimant litigation law firm with offices in Manchester, London, Houston, Manhattan, and Chicago. We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic paralegal to join our growing team of fee earners in our Manchester office. As a firm, JLG acts for consumers and businesses that have been “wronged” in some way by large corporations. We specialise in bringing large group actions against those corporations and driving high volumes of claims for financial mis-selling.
Successful candidates will assist in our busy and ever-growing financial mis-selling team, as well as the day-to-day business of handling client inquiries and advising on the legal processes our clients are involved in. Candidates must be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, display strong organisational skills, and keep a professional appearance. Candidates must also thrive under pressure when communicating with clients and have an ability to calmly articulate areas of discussion and the missions of Johnson Law Group. Previous fee earning experience preferred but not essential.

Preferred Experience
- Previous experience working in a law firm as a legal clerk in a fee earning capacity (preferably in civil/commercial litigation or financial mis-selling)
Responsibilities
- Request, chase, organise, review, and report on Data Subject Access Requests
- Update and liaise with clients by phone and in writing
- Maintain up-to-date diary and task lists
- Regularly and effectively chase outstanding tasks
- Actively progress cases
- Assist fee earners with tasks on their cases
- Draft and prepare claims for submission to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), and for court issue
- Draft letters of advice, witness statements, and collate relevant disclosure documents
- Analyse limitation issues on cases
- Carry out case law research and report findings
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate with clients
- e-File in the High Court and County Court
- Clearly document all information in the case management system
- Track and meet all procedural, limitation, and court deadlines
- Provide status updates
