We have a great opportunity for someone to join our Manchester team as an Accounts Manager. Within this role you will be part of a fast paced, motivated team, providing financial support locally and liaising with the US HQ team. You should have a strong grasp of SRA Accounts Rules and legal accounting principles, ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal cashiering and compliance to include recording client and office transactions accurately
- Financial Management covering VAT returns and reporting
- Preparing monthly & annual management reports
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable
- Develop robust financial controls and continuously improve processes
- Support internal and external audits
- Potential travel to London office
Qualifications
- Relevant accounting qualification (AAT, ILFM, or equivalent) is desirable
- Full knowledge and understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Proven experience in client account management, reconciliations, and month‑end closing
- Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in a similar finance role within a law firm
- Experience with foreign currency and intercompany transactions
- Experience as acting as firm’s COFA or advising the COFA on matters of SAR compliance in one or more previous employments
- Microsoft Office proficiency; intermediate‑advanced Excel
- Proclaim experience is a plus
