Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans.
As the Value Lead for DS you will lead, shape and deliver our new Depuy Synthes value proposition via a team of S&S managers, considering but not exclusively enabling technologies, Capital, Service and Solution programmes aligning this with current and future healthcare and customer needs. This newly created position will lead a team of managers to work across multiple functions to ensure that our DS & Business Unit value led strategies are executed to strengthen, maintain and develop new partnership opportunities with our NHS/Private customer base. You will also be responsible for shaping value-based procurement conversations with finance, procurement and leadership teams to ensure that DS is able to address, support & meet any evolving needs.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead, Shape and Deliver the DS value strategy via a team of managers, in alignment with the BU leads and alongside the commercial organisation.
- Manage tracking and value drawdown in collaboration with the Commercial Team, Finance and Tenders.
- Create and embed the DS value strategy to develop long term partnership agreements.
- Recruit, develop and implement the DS value team to enable and accelerate business growth: Diagnosis, Contracting, Shaping and Implementation.
- Work alongside the BU leads, to support the acceleration of enabling technology to deliver value for our customers and their patients whilst delivering our financial commitments.
- Co-ordinate and navigate internal resources across the organisations matrix to deliver appropriate value-added solutions for DS.
- Lead the creation of innovative proposals aligned to the evolving market, that drive profitable business growth and long-term partnership.
- Manage and coordinate third party value solutions, and support DS DRIs within the business.
- Validate, shape and support submissions to the value council and FPC.
- Support engagement with NHSSC and Private Partnerships to develop the future of Value based procurement.
- Work in collaboration with Commercial lead and Private Lead to optimise Value processes and maintain high engagement with both internal and external stakeholders.
Required Education and/or Experience:
- Driven by results performance & ability to shape and execute business strategy.
- Excellent working knowledge of NHS/Private Sector procurement.
- Proven ability to negotiate, shape and execute value-based opportunities.
- Proven track record in engaging with & influencing senior C suite stakeholders at both an internal and external level. (Director level and above).
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to drive customer-centric value-driven approach managing complexity, influencing and collaborating in a global, matrixed environment to achieve business objectives.
- Ability to understand business strategy and coach the transition to translate it into actionable plans, coupled with high execution focus and exceptional planning skills.
- Strong passion and track record for innovation & will to make things happen & deliver.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in local language(s) and English; effective interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Data analysis skills and ability to draw actionable conclusions.
- Creative divergent thinking, problem solving skills, inclusive thinking.
- University degree in business administration, marketing & communications, hospital management, life science, public administration or related fields or studies would be preferable but not essential.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven communication, presentation and negotiations skills.
- Excellent understanding of the UK Healthcare System, procurement providers and the strategy of the Future operating model its structure and priorities.
- Understanding of health economic principles and extensive knowledge of the UK medical devices industry.
- IT literate - ability to analyse and present information using appropriate IT resources.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data, highly numerate.
