Johnson & Johnson MedTech Orthopaedics are looking for a Modelling & Simulation Engineer based in our Leeds office.
About Orthopaedics: Fueled by innovation at the intersection of biology and technology, we're developing the next generation of smarter, less invasive, more personalized treatments.
What you will be Doing:
- Support verification testing and run high-fidelity simulations to inform design and regulatory documentation.
- Assist with test-to-model correlation and model validation activities to ensure simulation accuracy.
- Help develop and follow integrated simulation and physical test workflows.
- Contribute to electromechanical subsystem modelling, embedded sensor data analysis, and predictive-maintenance investigations as required.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software colleagues to identify modelling opportunities and communicate technical findings.
- This role will contribute to physics-based simulation, test method development, model verification, and validation activities across implants and electromechanical devices to support research, development, and verification testing.
- Participate in laboratory work and hands-on testing and evaluation when required.
Essential and desirable qualifications:
- Minimum of a BSc in Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related discipline.
- 2 years postgraduate experience with electromechanical devices is desirable.
- Strong programming ability in C/C++, Matlab, or Python.
- Experience (or coursework) in data acquisition, signal processing, statistical analysis, and basic AI/ML methods.
- Familiarity with ANSYS (Mechanical/Electronics), ABAQUS, and/or ALTAIR preferred.
- Hands-on laboratory experience and CAD proficiency are preferred.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to prioritise tasks, and work effectively within a team.
