DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Director, FM EMEA/APAC located in Singapore, Shanghai, Tokyo, Cork, IRE, or Leeds, UK. The FM (EMEA & APAC) Director is accountable for driving FM capabilities end‑to‑end across a highly complex, multi‑country, multi‑regulatory region, spanning mature and emerging markets. This role drives standardized FM hard and soft services while navigating regulatory diversity, labor frameworks, and varying infrastructure maturity across Orthopedics sites in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia‑Pacific.
A suitable candidate for this role will have strong communication skills, experience in facilities management, and experience with outsourced facilities organization across Supply Chain sites.
Key Accountabilities:- Provide regional leadership and oversight for FM services across EMEA & APAC, ensuring delivery of globally standardized FM services adapted to local regulatory and operational requirements.
- Act as the primary regional integrator between Global FM, E&PS, regional leadership, and outsourced service providers to enable seamless service delivery and strategic execution, while managing local variation.
- Own vendor relationships and performance across a fragmented supplier landscape, including markets with limited FM maturity or constrained supplier capability.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for FM service delivery, compliance, infrastructure resilience, and operational continuity across EMEA & APAC sites.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness across diverse legal, safety, environmental, and labor frameworks, proactively managing risk in collaboration with Quality, EHS, and Legal partners.
- Translate global FM and E&PS strategies into regionally executable plans, accounting for geopolitical risk, supply chain variability, and site criticality.
- Provide strategic FM input into capital projects, site transitions, and separation‑related activities, with particular focus on Works Council engagement, consultation requirements, and regulatory sequencing.
- Lead crisis management participation across the region, coordinating with Local and Regional Crisis Management Teams to ensure business continuity and structured decision‑making.
- Maintain accountability for FM data integrity, occupancy, utilization, and portfolio insights to support regional and global decision‑making.
- High degree of external complexity (regulatory bodies, Works Councils, government authorities).
- Strong emphasis on influence leadership across cultures, time zones, and governance models.
- Requires balancing global standardization with local feasibility in markets at different stages of FM maturity.
- A minimum of ten to twelve (10-12) years of related work experience.
- University/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, Architecture or similar degree required.
- Master’s degree in engineering, Business, Architecture or similar preferred.
- Strong proven experience in facilities and/or supply chain engineering & maintenance function.
- Strong management and technical skills.
- Experience related to risk management, quality, safety, and compliance.
- Knowledge of business strategy and projected business unit requirements for the workplace, infrastructure, real property, and facilities, including impact on the portfolio plan.
- Experience supporting EMEA and/or APAC regions.
- Background in medical device, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries.
- Ability to make decisions across business units with authority.
- Experience working with and socializing strategies within a complex regionally driven organization.
- Experience leading a facilities function at multinational enterprise in a manufacturing site or experience as General Manager of a manufacturing site or experience as engineering lead of a manufacturing site.

- Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and influence strategic decision‑making.

- Travel: Up to 20–30%, including international travel across EMEA and APAC.
- Certifications: CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar certifications preferred.
