We are seeking a Field Clinical Specialist IVL – North UK and Ireland to support our Shockwave Medical Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL)® technology. Ideal candidate located in Manchester or Leeds area.
Position Overview
The Field Clinical Specialist provides case support to physicians within defined territories, covering peripheral and coronary interventional procedures in pre‑market and post‑market phases. The role includes device training, case support and timely data collection for clinical programs. The specialist may support additional territories as needed.
Essential Job Functions
- Train physician and hospital staff and provide procedural case coverage to ensure safe and effective use of medical devices.
- Meet the needs of internal and external customers with urgency and drive.
- Present clinical study training materials based on investigational plans to support safe and effective use of medical devices.
- Manage key study investigators; foster and maintain relationships with medical advisors and clinical leaders.
- Partner with other clinical research colleagues to meet business needs in the field, including site re‑training, data collection for database locks and issue resolution.
- Administrative activities including training to procedures, manage territory travel and budgets.
- Develop therapy strategy in defined target accounts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, science, nursing or related fields, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience directly supporting interventional or surgical procedures within a hospital setting OR 1 year of industry, hospital‑based life sciences sales support; cardiovascular industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of clinical research, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance guidelines for clinical trials.
- Experience collaborating with regulatory agencies through clinical studies and market releases.
- Product knowledge including vigilance and medical device reporting.
- Computer skills (MS Office, word processing, spreadsheets).
- Entrepreneurial, hands‑on, pro‑active “can do” attitude.
- Effective cross‑functional teamwork and decision‑making.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills at all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Flexibility to work independently or as part of a team while adapting to changing requirements.
