Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans.

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for an Operations, Strategy & Execution Lead, located in Leeds, United Kingdom. As we navigate the DePuy Synthes separation and our operating complexity increases, the challenge is no longer strategy definition, but strategy execution—specifically, ensuring that our strategic intent lands clearly, consistently and at pace across leadership behaviour, organisational priorities, brand expression and external-facing moments. This position drives the accountability for turning UK strategy into clear priorities, aligning communication, marketing and DS market/brand presence, whilst ensuring effective execution of strategic priorities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the GM/LT with the execution of DS UK strategic priorities, through execution and planning (leadership meetings, business reviews and business cycles).
  • Manage governance structures, priorities, prepare briefings and presentations, coordinate follow-up actions, and ensure leadership decisions are executed as needed.
  • Track execution against priorities, driving clarity on ownership, execution and delivery to ensure delivery of financial commitments.
  • Cross-functional program management: Create project plans, manage timelines, owners and risks, maintaining governance and clear reporting.
  • Execute strategic cadence of internal, social media and digital storytelling strategic priorities, portfolio milestones and Leadership and NHS-relevant moments.
  • Ensure strategic intent is consistently expressed through engagement including town halls, kick-offs, leadership forums, portfolio messaging and marketing activity.
  • Act as an integrator between relevant internal functions to ensure alignment and collaboration and timely execution.
  • Lead the congress momentum to ensure consistent DS stand presence, leadership participation, portfolio sessions, content capture and post-event follow-through.
  • Translate regional/global strategy into measurable plans, facilitate and run financial planning cycles and performance reviews (e.g. Commercial Operations), and deliver business cases and scenario analysis.
  • Improve decision quality and execution by ensuring leaders are focused on the right priorities at the right time.
  • Lead the transition and integration of the new DS brand and value proposition.
  • Sit on the Leeds ONE Governance team and drive visibility of the site and its leadership, internally and externally. Shape plans to accelerate DePuy Synthes in Leeds as a world-class med tech hub.

Required Education And/or Experience:

  • Driven by results performance & ability to shape, execute business strategy by robust governance, influencing others without a direct report line.
  • Ability to understand business strategy and coach the transition to translate it into actionable plans, coupled with high execution focus and exceptional planning skills.
  • Ability to navigate the DS matrix, manage multiple stakeholders and at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong passion and track record for innovation & will to make things happen & deliver.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in local language(s) and English; effective interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Data analysis skills and ability to draw actionable conclusions.
  • Creative divergent thinking, problem solving skills, inclusive thinking.
  • University degree in business administration, marketing & communications, public administration or related fields or studies would be preferable but not essential.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:

  • Proven communication, presentation skills – in all forms.
  • Experience of managing social media platforms and communication platforms.
  • IT literate – ability to analyse and present information using appropriate IT resources.
