Open Role: We are searching for the best talent for the Calibration Technician position to be in Leeds, UK.
Role Overview: As part of the Calibration Team, the calibration technician will support the day‑to‑day execution of the calibration schedule and laboratory activities. You will perform internal calibrations, support external calibration activities (on‑ and off‑site), maintain calibration records, assist with audits, raise purchase orders, and help ensure equipment readiness and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Keep critical equipment performing at its best by completing precise, timely calibrations that reduce downtime and support smooth manufacturing operations.
- Champion an audit‑ready environment by maintaining a clean, compliant, and well‑organised Calibration Laboratory aligned with HSE and GMP standards.
- Own calibration accuracy through meticulous updating of the calibration database and management of certificates, ensuring full traceability across all equipment.
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate calibration services, support safe equipment use, and resolve issues quickly.
- Respond rapidly to operational needs by organising ad‑hoc calibrations for breakdowns, investigations, and new equipment.
- Support quality excellence by raising non‑conformances, contributing technical insights, and assisting with audit preparation.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying enhancements to calibration processes, systems, and equipment workflows.
- Maintain operational readiness by managing spare equipment inventory and completing work orders accurately in the CMMS (Maximo).
Qualifications / Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in calibration or similar technical work.
- Strong knowledge of calibration/gauging equipment and CMMS (e.g., Maximo).
- Experience in a GMP‑regulated environment with solid understanding of quality and regulatory standards.
- High attention to detail with strong organisational and planning skills.
- Experience supporting audits and preparing documentation.
- Flexible, proactive, and safety‑focused mindset.
