Purpose of the role

This role is responsible for driving above market growth with our advanced Energy handheld portfolio through a combination of earn competitive share and upgrade activities in the MedTech Surgery business. These strategies will be informed by a deep understanding of customer needs and marketplace dynamics, and the subsequent development of meaningful and relevant go-to-market strategies, flawless pull-through of commercial execution, and the ability to support consistent regional support with key local market partners across all of EMEA.

This role will also be responsible for developing and deploying mid- and long-term product launch and legacy product rationalization strategies, in conjunction with Global Marketing partners, for an evolving Energy handheld portfolio. Furthermore, there will be a closely integrated partnership with fellow on-team Specialty Marketers in support of Colorectal, Bariatric, and Thoracic surgery, a surgical speciality where the Energy handheld portfolio has high applicability and relevance. This support of this across-team collaboration will shape the future of surgery and requires close connection to key surgical societies, medical and government affairs and patient advocacy groups to deliver on a higher standard of patient care.

What To Expect

You will be joining a highly motivated, diverse, passionate team that is fully focussed on elevating the standard of care in surgery, through the commercial support of the Energy portfolio in EMEA. You will have full product life-cycle management responsibilities for the Energy handheld portfolio and its leading HARMONIC and ENSEAL brands. This will include ownership of the EMEA Energy handheld strategy, and its flawless delivery through harnessing the breadth of our MedTech-wide strategic capabilities. You will work closely with the EndoMechanical and Energy leaders and the extended EMEA Regional Office leadership team to engage all relevant internal (local, regional and global) colleagues to align behind your plan to ensure profitable, above market growth.

Strategy Development

  • Gather meaningful internal and external customer input to shape and validate your portfolio strategies.
  • Defines business goals, aligned with overall business strategies, to be met through a comprehensive multi-channel, Marketing and Commercial approach with thorough measurement of impact and ROI
  • Secures and manage necessary discretionary budget
  • Sets priorities, oversees and guides the utilization of marketing activities and creates a supportive culture throughout the organization
  • Ensures the effective use of resources through consolidation and elimination of organizational barriers
  • Development of key portfolio analytics and dashboards, to ensure on-track performance and timely indication to markets using both leading and lagging indicators.

Launch Excellence

  • End-to-end EMEA Regional ownership of NPI’s using Launch Excellence (LEX) principles, most notably for upcoming handheld launch preparation, driving annual acceleration against company targets.
  • Monitors industry environment and key Colorectal, Bariatric, and Thoracic surgery evolutions for current and future portfolio opportunities for the Energy franchise
  • Provides strategically tailored marketing content via internal, external and digital assets in line with commercial and overarching communications strategy.
  • Drives internal sales and external customer education and the overall promotion of our business.

Brand/ Product Management

  • Develops in depth Product and linked Specialty Knowledge
  • Operating Budget planning and ownership
  • Financial Forecasting ownership
  • Tender and Pricing strategy management
  • Supply Forecasting and inventory management
  • Conducting product technical training (supported by commercial education)
  • Developing and implementing programs that deliver “Value Beyond Product” to key markets and customers

Crucial to your success will be your effective management of key multi-functional stakeholders across a highly matrixed organization, from local, to EMEA, to Global teams. Additionally, the focus on managing across local market marketing and selling activities to execute key portfolio strategies.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

  • To excel in this role, you will have a proven track record of success within your previous and current roles.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of sales &/or marketing experience with continuous & proven track record, people leadership preferred
  • You will need to demonstrate an understanding of the Healthcare system, including the various stakeholders and commercial processes – evidenced through direct experience.
  • Forge lasting relationships with critical stakeholders both internally and externally in order to drive your plans and strategies forward while building MedTech Surgery’s reputation as a trusted partner.
  • Be an extremely effective communicator across wide-audience types and markets, and can also present in an a clear, engaging and inspiring manner both your aims and objectives, and the expectations of others.
  • Experience of people leadership would be advantageous as this role will have informal coaching and indirect leadership expectations.
  • Effective delegation and prioritisation are critical skills to enable you to work with efficiency and focus while empowering others around you to broaden their leadership experience.
  • Maintain deep clinical expertise in product and procedure knowledge to ensure strategies maintain relevance to market demands
  • Knowledge of the healthcare or medical device environment and Energy platform expertise is required.
  • Market development or value/demand creation through experience with customer and market insights or through experience in marketing or other critical functions (e.g., sales, operations, R&D, finance, business development, etc.)
