Job Description
Purpose
Provide strategic leadership and direction on the implementation of J&J IM’s government affairs strategy in the UK. Strategically appraise the external environment and interact with government officials, parliamentarians, and system stakeholders to represent J&J IM’s priorities and maintain patient access across therapeutic areas.
Support the Director of Health Affairs
Build and execute a coherent, integrated government affairs strategy for J&J IM.
Deliver J&J IM’s government affairs strategy for the UK, working on issues such as NICE reform and VPAG.
Engage on Government policy initiatives (e.g., Industrial Strategy, NHS 10-year plan) to communicate J&J’s positions.
Represent J&J IM within trade bodies and industry groups.
Keep senior colleagues updated on political and policy developments.
Contribute to Patient Access team discussions to shape access strategies.
Develop networks with stakeholders including Ministers, Civil Servants, Parliamentarians, and Think Tanks.
Enhance J&J’s profile in the UK healthcare environment.
Brand Government Affairs – CVT/therapeutic areas
Lead and manage the implementation of government affairs, policy, and healthcare system plans/projects within therapeutic areas.
Interpret policy developments, identify opportunities and threats, and develop engagement plans.
Manage risks by providing counsel and actions related to government and healthcare policies.
Prepare briefing documents and communication materials.
Maintain relationships with UK senior colleagues to harmonize approaches.
Other Activities
Manage third-party agencies.
Stay updated on NHS, government, and third sector policies through literature, websites, conferences, and discussions.
Monitor health system changes and implications for products.
