We are searching for the best talent for an Operations Team Lead role to be in Blackpool, United Kingdom!
Purpose: The Team Leader will provide day-to-day supervision and leadership on the shop floor, manage resources to add value to production operations whilst ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, quality and business systems. The role will be the catalyst for improvement in the performance of the production lines and drive operational excellence in the areas under their control.
As an Operations Team Lead, you will:
- Provide frontline leadership on the shop floor by day-to-day supervision including daily production output tracking, mentoring and coaching.
- Be responsible for escalating and communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level.
- Manage the allocation of resources to ensure delivery of day-to-day operational demands whilst also supporting company-wide activities.
- Effectively manage and allocate headcount resource using resource scheduler, flexibility & training matrix, etc.
- Facilitate problem identification and resolution to root cause with team to ensure customer service levels are achieved.
- Effectively manage absence, lates & disciplinary matters in a fair and reasonable manner in line with company policies and credo values.
- Complete performance appraisals and development conversations in a timely manner.
- Enforce all GMP requirements.
- Promote continuous improvement in pursuit of higher quality products and lead operational excellence within the value stream.
- Ensure team effectiveness by providing clear goals and objectives which drive accountability at both a team and individual level.
- Champion best practice improvement principles (Process Excellence, Lean) to drive continuous improvement culture.
- Be responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.
Requirements & Skills:
- Higher National Diploma in Management or related discipline.
- 3+ years’ experience in a supervisory management role within a similar environment.
- Working knowledge of world-class manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of a regulated industry.
- Experience of managing multiple operational teams within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- No more than 5%, limited to travel to other sites for training/experience.
- The application of Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Use of KPIs to improve business performance.
- Ability to deliver production plans on time and to budget.
- Ability to engage and influence key stakeholders and other site leaders.
