Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is hiring a Health Economics, Market Access and Reimbursement (HEMAR) Manager located in High Wycombe, United Kingdom.
Role Purpose: The HEMAR Manager will deliver accelerated, broad market and patient access and funding for J&Jās key brands. The successful candidate will play a key role as part of the HEMAR team working with a group of market access and health economics specialists. The role reports into a member of the HEMAR leadership team who lead overall brand strategy working with the country value teams (CVTs). The goal of the HEMAR department is to optimize the value of both the Company and its products, through the development of a positive external image perceived by payers. This is done by communicating effectively the innovative values of the Company to patients, to the National Health Service and to the community as a whole.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Own health economic plans for allocated indications, design and develop models and implement studies which meet evidence gaps to build positive and compelling commercial opportunities, including taking projects through internal approval processes.
- Support HEMAR Portfolio Lead in working with the country value team (CVT), HEMAR regional functional network team, and with new product development colleagues to ensure the free flow of information and ideas, while aligning objectives & contributing to strategy development for appointed indications.
- Lead the development of HTA strategy for indications in early stage development and work with the HTA core team to develop and agree HTA strategies for allocated indications in mid-late stage clinical development through engagement with all relevant internal and external partners.
- Develop, run and deliver high quality submissions to national and local health technology assessment organisations, such as NICE, SMC and AWMSG to achieve positive recommendations.
- Engage with and establish relationships with key clinicians, patient groups, local and national payers, and HTA officials to support all allocated brands.
- Influence Global/EMEA integrated clinical and health economic evidence generation plans through ongoing proactive interaction with the EMEA/Global partners through the EMEA functional Network to ensure UK payer evidence requirements are met.
Functional And Technical Knowledge:
- Applied skills and technical knowledge ā experience in health economics, systematic literature reviews, protocol writing, real world evidence (RWE) and HTA methodologies, policy (keep up to date on the latest NHS), etc.
- Understanding the internal and external environment for evidence generation and Market Access in UK ā specific opportunities, and/or hurdles in terms of local evidence generation.
- Persuasive communication ā ability to interact with different stakeholders inside and outside the organization. Contribute to the development and provision of targeted health economic training programs for internal and external customers.
Qualifications:
- A postgraduate degree (e.g. MSc, PhD) in Health Economics, RWE, Health Service or related field (Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Data science, Epidemiology, etc.).
- 3+ years of experience in both Health Economics and Market Access and some experience of developing junior staff is a plus.
- Knowledge and applied experience in at least one of the following therapeutic areas: Oncology, Pulmonary diseases, Neuroscience, Immunology, Cardiovascular & Metabolism and/or Ophthalmology is preferred.
- Deep understanding of Health Economics concept and evidence synthesis techniques.
- Strong Project Management capability with adherence to strict timelines.
- Ability to work effectively in a complex, diverse and matrix environment.
