Location – North England Region – Field Based

Role Purpose

Leading the Immunology Team’s local patient access activities via engagement with local key decision-makers, budget holders and thought leaders in the local health system, developing strategic insights, partnership opportunities, and facilitating pathway and system improvements to enable better health outcomes for patients, and access to Johnson & Johnson’s innovative medicines, ultimately driving uptake of our brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring sales growth and competitiveness of Johnson & Johnson’s in-market medicines by delivering value propositions, and other market access tools and materials to support the preferential placement of our brands within the pathways of the local health economy.
  • Co-create, and deliver against, local access plans for Johnson & Johnson brands, integrated with the local sales teams account plans.
  • Strategically build the right environment to achieve efficient and early market access and funding for our new products, new indications of existing key products and in-market products by demonstrating how our products add value to the patient population and NHS thereby, ensuring that patients and prescribers gain timely access to our valuable new medicines.
  • Utilization of expertise on the local health system to ensure optimal and early access & uptake of Johnson & Johnson innovative medicines.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with ICs and local procurement leads, key clinical specialists (who are key decision makers and or budget holders, and or responsible for pathway creations, updates or adherence), RMOC heads, high-cost drug pharmacists, medicines optimization leads, and more as required.

Qualifications

Education

  • ABPI Exam Qualified.
  • Degree level education or equivalent experience or qualification.
  • Subject matter expert in partnership working with NHS with excellent process capability.

Essential Languages: High level English fluency.

Required

  • Strong account management skills and strategic account planning.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant local market access experience.
  • Ability to co-create value by understanding Janssen's strategic capabilities and being able to apply them to customer needs.
  • Ability to navigate through complex internal and external approval processes resulting in strong outcomes for patient, NHS and Janssen.
  • Strong commercial acumen and Return on Investment (ROI) focus in planning.
  • Ability to build and deliver outstanding strategic plans, which have patient access at the heart of each strategic plan.
  • Excellent internal and external communicator, highly engaging with external customers and curious about customer needs.
  • Strong track record of successful engagement with clinical & non-clinical stakeholders across the UK NHS.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional matrix to successfully deliver objectives to time and budget.
  • Working understanding of reimbursement within the NHS.

Preferred

  • Previous demonstrable experience of working in partnership with the NHS to deliver collaboration/Joint Working Initiatives.
  • Immunology experience with demonstrable successes.

Other

  • Familiarity with NHS data sources.
  • Field based.
