We are looking for a Director of Solution Delivery and Customer Value, a strategic and execution-focused leader to drive solution delivery excellence and quality assurance, and immediate customer value realization for our Smart Building Software portfolio. This role is pivotal in ensuring that every customer engagement delivers measurable outcomes, seamless & secure delivery, and high satisfaction and early adoption.
The product portfolio consists of Software as a Service offerings that deliver on high performing assets across building domains (HVAC, Controls, Security, Fire) in the commercial building space. These products enable advanced building and data visualization & analytics, workflows to increase uptime, efficiency, and asset life and AI-driven optimization to realize energy and operational efficiencies.
This role ensures seamless execution across the solution delivery lifecycle – from supporting in scope validation and solution design, delivery of configured software and all underlying integrations, generation of customer value and a seamless transfer of the customer relationship to the Customer Success team for future support. This role oversees a team of Delivery QA engineers working across Johnson Controls’ EMEA region and will have close collaboration with an ecosystem of Johnson Controls’ field offices (branches) and external partners to deliver best-in-class customer outcomes.
How you will do it
- Solution Design Support: Support the solution architecture and design efforts for smart building deployments of varying complexity. Collaborate with Solution Design, Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with customer needs. Develop reusable design frameworks and playbooks for rapid deployment and customization.
- Delivery Quality Assurance: Define and implement QA standards across all delivery phases, including configuration, integration, and testing. Establish metrics and dashboards to monitor delivery performance, defect rates, and customer feedback. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce deployment time and increase reliability.
- Day 1 Customer Value Enablement: Own the strategy and execution of Day 1 value realization for customers - ensuring that key outcomes are delivered immediately upon go-live. Partner with Customer Success and Implementation teams to define onboarding KPIs and success criteria. Develop and maintain a library of Day 1 value use cases and success stories.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a senior point of contact and trusted advisor to key clients, ensuring their strategic goals are met through successful project outcomes. Represent the voice of the customer internally, advocating for their needs and driving customer-centric initiatives.
- Operational Excellence: Manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and regulatory standards.
What we look for
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in solution design and delivery roles in the field of building controls systems, smart building software and sensorization.
- Strong understanding of IoT, building automation systems, cloud platforms, data integration & communication standards (ex: BACnet, Modbus, APIs).
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering enterprise-grade solutions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, strategic planning and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities spanning from Facilities or Technical Directors to Building Operators, Sustainability teams and Space Planners.
- An entrepreneurial mindset: comfortable rolling up sleeves, thriving in ambiguity and uncertainty, conflict resolution, and execution across teams to move fast through solid action plans.
- Experience with project management tools (ex: Jira) and customer success platforms (ex: Salesforce).
- Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field of engineering or technical services.
- Up to 20% domestic and international travel when required.
