What you will do
The Project Manager will be responsible for providing first line management support to a team of installers both Engineers and Subcontractors whilst reporting to the Regional Installation Manager. You will lead and drive our key initiatives within the install teams and influence individual performance by greater management focus ensuring alignment and delivery of our strategic objectives for our Installation growth plan. The Project Manager will take personal responsibility for leading install Delivery, Quality and Health & Safety by acting as a role model to meet and exceed customer expectations you will also be responsible for your own financial work bank. You will also support the Regional Installation Managers focus on optimisation and cost management while in addition effectively managing customer relationships across a variety of companies and organizations.
How you will do it
- Maintain a close working relationship with the Installation Management teams to review and improve the department’s current aims and objectives.
- Record, monitor and advise the Regional Installation Manager of any defects and Specification/Scope deviations.
- Direct management of designated team of engineers within the Install Department.
- Manage and co-ordination of the Engineers and Sub-Contractors work whilst on site.
- Responsible for the implementation of procedures for the execution of work, briefing instructions to the staff in a timely fashion and ensuring that best practice is exercised.
- Planning and scheduling of manpower and equipment requirements for programmed jobs, guaranteeing that the jobs are completed within the specified time frame and budget allocated.
- Management and monitoring of engineers’ documentation to ensure both accuracy and expediency, including certifying timesheets for correct hour booking and appropriation.
- Conduct regular safety and quality audits on the Engineers and Sub-Contractors to ensure that the employees are using the correct equipment and are working safely.
- Identify development areas by means of regular performance assessments with the engineers to develop a training plan for the team/individuals. This includes conducting annual appraisals.
- Manage work in hand to maximise productivity of the team, accuracy of forecasts, and jobs completed in a timely manner.
- Monitor and control allocated budgets and prepare reports and programmes as required by the Regional Installation Manager.
- Manage debt and minimise disputes by liaising directly with the Credit Control Department, which in turn will allow invoices to be passed for payment.

- Experience of working within an installation team and all responsibilities that come with this role.
- Experience in supervising / managing a team of engineers.
- Ability to build, develop and manage a team through hard work, professionalism, adherence and cadence whilst fulfilling projects.
- Full UK drivers license.
- Experience in managing and planning of Mechanical Fire Suppression systems.
- Minimum of 3 years experience within the Fire / Sprinkler Industry is preferred.
- PC literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Preferred competency of standards, ie LPCB BS12845, plus NFPA.
