We have an exciting opportunity for a Machinery Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing site in Frome. Reporting into the Engineering team, you will play a vital role in keeping our machining and production equipment operating safely, reliably and efficiently. You will support daily maintenance activities, help drive total productive maintenance (TPM), and contribute to continuous improvement across the site.
Shift pattern (rotating):
- 6am-2pm (Tuesdays finish at 4pm)
- 2pm-10pm (Wednesdays start at 12pm)
- 10pm-6am (Sundays start at 8pm)
What You Will Do
- Support day-to-day maintenance across a busy machining and manufacturing environment
- Respond to breakdowns and carry out corrective, preventative and improvement works
- Fault-find and repair production and processing machinery
- Build and maintain asset care plans and TPM schedules
- Plan, log and document maintenance tasks using CMMS
- Work closely with Engineering, Production and Quality teams
- Supervise external contractors when required
- Support planned maintenance during shutdown periods
- Maintain accurate equipment, spares and asset documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
How You Will Do It
- Use a proactive, safety-first approach to maintenance and fault resolution
- Apply strong electrical and/or mechanical diagnostic skills
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders across shifts and departments
- Follow site standards, procedures and company values
- Take ownership of equipment performance and uptime
What We Are Looking For
- Qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Completed apprenticeship with at least 3 years post-qualification experience
- Background in machinery maintenance, repairs and breakdown response
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics or PLCs (advantageous)
- Experience using CMMS systems
- IT-literate with strong problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently with a proactive, can-do attitude
