Your Role & Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance & Planning: Develop, implement, and maintain QA systems aligned with AQAP and ISO 9001. Oversee Quality Plans to ensure compliance with defence manufacturing regulations. Establish Test and Inspection Plans for HVAC&R and fire suppression/detection systems. Conduct internal audits and maintain adherence to contractual requirements. Lead continuous improvement initiatives for product reliability and process efficiency. Support external audits (ISO 9001, BSI) and liaise with MOD and critical customers.
- Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordination: Perform EHS building checks and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Develop and implement risk assessments for manufacturing and operational sites. Conduct safety training and promote a strong workplace safety culture. Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives.
- HVAC&R and Fire Suppression/Detection Systems: Oversee manufacturing and compliance of HVAC&R systems for naval defence projects. Ensure fire suppression/detection systems meet industry safety standards. Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate HVAC&R and fire safety solutions.
- Test & Inspection Management: Implement inspection protocols for critical components and systems. Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning inspections. Maintain documentation and reporting aligned with AQAP, ISO 9001, and EHS standards.
- DRACAS Implementation: Manage the Data Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (DRACAS) to track and resolve reported issues. Conduct incident investigations, analyse root causes, and implement corrective actions. Maintain traceability of incident management from initial discovery to resolution.
What Weβre Looking For:
- Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of QA management experience in naval defence or manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of AQAP 2110/2210 and ISO 9001 standards
- Expertise in Quality Plans, Test, and Inspection Plans
- Experience conducting EHS building checks and risk assessments
- Knowledge of HVAC&R systems and fire suppression/detection products
- Experience implementing DRACAS for incident tracking and corrective action
- Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent qualification
- Experience with Submarine Quality Assurance Clauses (SSQAC)
- Professional membership with the Institute of Quality Assurance or other relevant body
- Strong communication and leadership skills
