What Will You Do
- You will be required to work closely with the Procurement Manager, Category Managers and key stakeholders to understand spend requirements, negotiate prices and contracts with suppliers to achieve both cost book and savings targets.
- You will lead commercial and contractual interactions with external companies and be responsible for implementing and supporting the creation of key supplier partnership business plans based on internal requirements, supplier market analysis and cost models to achieve long‑term working relationships that enable both supplier and JCI market growth.
- Stakeholder management will be the key to success and you will be expected to engage, obtain sponsorship and influence senior level stakeholders as well as your peers.
How Will You Do It
- Delivering against an agreed Category Strategy for Indirect Spend.
- Gathering, managing and interpreting data from multiple sources, to provide analysis, clear recommendations and results.
- Supporting the buying team to interpret market and commodity data, contributing to category strategies and sourcing plans.
- Working closely with the wider team to gather and interpret performance data; designing a regular reporting cadence and ensuring accurate and meaningful data presentation.
- Working in close collaboration with the UK&I Field business and the Category Management teams.
- Conducting end‑to‑end tender exercises & negotiations to appoint contracts and framework agreements with preferred suppliers.
- Responsible for generating & delivering savings opportunities against an annual target & improving supplier payment terms.
- Providing support and cover for the Indirect Spend Procurement Manager where needed.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate into a sourcing strategy.
- Build & update pipeline activity & tracking delivery against plans.
- Driving contract and category negotiations across the portfolio.
- Supplier K.P.I and S.L.A management, taking ownership of supplier quarterly business review meetings.
- Relationship management and post‑contract value creation.
- Support supplier management processes including supplier onboarding, performance evaluations and audits.
- Creation and delivery of RFXs activities where appropriate using eSourcing platforms to deliver best solution proposals to the business for sourcing decisions.
- Support and mentor the Buying team which may include interns at times.
- Support and drive the use of eProcurement methodologies.
What we look for
- Previous experience in an Indirect Procurement role/data analyst experience.
- Strong data focus, previous experience in building dashboards in Power BI.
- Managing internal stakeholders, external suppliers and working to very tight deadlines.
- Gathering and analysing data to drive category and supplier decision‑making.
- Experience in Procurement processes including eProcurement suites.
- IT Literacy, in particular Advanced MS Office ability and ERP’s.
- Handling multiple responsibilities and working independently where necessary.
- Experience working within a team to achieve both individual and common goals.
- Track record of delivering savings.
- Commercial awareness & highly numerical.
Preferred
- CIPS qualified or holds a relevant business degree.
- Experience within the construction industry.
