We’re looking for a talented Design Engineer to join our team and deliver advanced Fire and Security solutions that meet key industry standards, including BS5839-1. You’ll design, price, and develop integrated systems using AutoCAD and your knowledge of networking principles to create smart, site-specific solutions. From concept to tender stage, you’ll bring technical expertise and commercial awareness, confidently presenting innovative ideas to clients.

What You Will Do

  • Design and present Fire Detection, Life Safety, and Security solutions across multiple sites
  • Review and interpret client requirements to create tailored, effective solutions
  • Conduct site surveys and client meetings where required
  • Manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines
  • Embrace new technologies and innovative design approaches
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement

What We Look For

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Fire and/or Security Design role
  • Knowledge of electronic security systems (CCTV, Access Control)
  • Understanding of BS5839‑1 or equivalent NSI practice
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience in fast‑paced, collaborative environments
  • Must have lived in the UK continuously for the past 5 years (for vetting clearance)

Preferred:

  • Site experience, including surveying and attending client/design meetings
  • FIA Advanced Fire Design certification
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Experience with 3D design tools such as Navisworks or Revit
