What You Will Do

We are hiring a Fire Suppression Design Engineer to join Xcell Misting, specialising in water mist and gas suppression systems. You will be responsible for full fire protection system designs based on site surveys or drawings.

The role can be based in Hethel (Norfolk), Birmingham, or Manchester, and involves site visits, design input, and close collaboration with Sales, Estimating, and Delivery teams to reduce installation issues and support project delivery.

  • How You Will Do It

  • Design fire suppression systems (HP/LP Water Mist, Sprinklers, Dry/Wet Risers, Hose Reels, Hydrants)
  • Conduct site surveys and create compliant designs
  • Manage day-to-day design issues with clients, M&E teams, Fire Consultants, Installers, Authorities, and Insurers
  • Ensure commercial viability and timely delivery of design packages
  • Complete Design Risk Assessments and ensure all design variations meet customer and regulatory standards
  • Work closely with Sales and Contracts to ensure smooth project handover and completion
  • What We Look For

    Essential

  • Knowledge of LPC Rules BS EN 12845, BS 9251, NFPA, FM Global
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (3D skills a plus)
  • Ability to produce hydraulic calculations and drawings
  • Full UK driving licence, willingness to travel
  • Strong organisational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred

  • LPCB Design Exam passes (Basic, Intermediate, FHC)
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Knowledge of other fire suppression systems
