Overview
Fire and Security Design Engineer We’re looking for a talented Design Engineer to join our team and deliver advanced Fire and Security solutions that meet key industry standards, including BS5839-1. You’ll design, price, and develop integrated systems using AutoCAD and your knowledge of networking principles to create smart, site-specific solutions. From concept to tender stage, you’ll bring technical expertise and commercial awareness, confidently presenting innovative ideas to clients.

What You Will Do
- Design and present Fire Detection, Life Safety, and Security solutions across multiple sites
- Review and interpret client requirements to create tailored, effective solutions
- Conduct site surveys and client meetings where required
- Manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines
- Embrace new technologies and innovative design approaches
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement
Required
What We Look For
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Fire and/or Security Design role
- Knowledge of electronic security systems (CCTV, Access Control)
- Understanding of BS5839-1 or equivalent NSI practice
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience in fast-paced, collaborative environments
- Must have lived in the UK continuously for the past 5 years (for vetting clearance)
Preferred
- Site experience, including surveying and attending client/design meetings
- FIA Advanced Fire Design certification
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience with 3D design tools such as Navisworks or Revit
