What you’ll do at work

Begin an exciting journey as an electrical Engineer apprentice with us! You\’ll mainly focus on maintaining the safety, integrity, and effective operation of fire suppression products and equipment. But that\’s not all!

This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience while receiving structured training and support. You will work alongside qualified engineers, gaining valuable insights and skills in electrical engineering within the context of fire suppression systems and equipment.

Our diverse clientele, including sectors like data centres and food production, will add variety to your work as you ensure the optimal performance of their fire suppression systems and equipment.

With comprehensive training in all aspects of electrical engineering related to fire suppression and detection, you\’ll be well-equipped to service, test, and repair fire suppression systems and equipment as per relevant standards and specifications.

Our apprenticeship structure combines on-the-job work experience with college attendance. The curriculum covers a range of engineering disciplines, focusing initially on core engineering competencies before branching into specialist training for the electrical engineer position.

You\’ll be guided by experienced electrical engineers, many of whom have completed the same apprenticeship scheme. They\’ll mentor you throughout the process and teach you the necessary skills to become a successful Electrical Engineer.
Where You’ll Work
You will be expected to cover the North West, North East and Midlands predominantly. However, this is a national role so will need to travel all over the UK and be comfortable working away and staying over in hotels when required.

What’s Next?
Suitable candidates will be contacted via email to provide their evidence of required certifications. Once we receive the evidence of certification you will have a screening call with a recruiter to discuss the position. Afterward, you will be invited to an assessment centre, where you will participate in a practical assessment, meet the team, and have an interview.
Candidates will receive a response regarding the outcome of their application. If successful, they can expect to begin the apprenticeship with Johnson Controls in the late summer of 2025.
