Our client, a rapidly expanding asset-based lending business, is seeking an exceptional Portfolio Monitoring Manager to join their growing team in London. This role has been created due to significant portfolio growth and represents a unique opportunity to make your mark within a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. Operating within the middle to front office, you'll work directly alongside the investment team, playing a pivotal role in monitoring a diverse multinational portfolio. The Role

Reporting to the Head of Portfolio, you'll be at the heart of investment decision-making, bridging borrowers, investment management, financial modelling, operations, and finance teams to ensure comprehensive portfolio visibility:

  • Analyse and track loan and investment performance against financial plans, borrowing bases, and KPIs with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Maintain rigorous oversight of collateral positions, liquidity metrics, future funding requirements, and exit strategies.
  • Design, build, and maintain dynamic portfolio monitoring dashboards and reporting tools that drive informed decision-making.
  • Review and enhance existing systems and processes to improve consistency and visibility as the portfolio scales.
  • Deliver compelling monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc investment reports for investment committees, senior management, and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external advisors to ensure full compliance across the portfolio.
  • Identify opportunities for deeper analysis on existing and prospective investments.
  • Own the maintenance and continuous improvement of portfolio management systems.

What You'll Bring

  • Several years' experience in audit, transaction services, asset-based lending, or private equity (Big 4 or equivalent background highly valued).
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • University degree with strong business or analytical foundation.
  • Advanced MS Excel proficiency and enthusiasm for mastering new software platforms.
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities with the ability to distil complex data into actionable insights.
  • Outstanding communication skills—written and verbal—to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Highly Desirable

  • Direct experience in asset-based lending and portfolio monitoring.
  • Hands-on familiarity with portfolio monitoring tools and platforms.
