Our client is looking for a Loans Agency Specialist to join their London-based team. Salary: Up to £76,000 per annum.

Location: London, EC3V 3LA.

Work Environment: Hybrid working model with two days in the office and three days remote.

About the Role

As a Loans Agency Specialist, you will act as the key intermediary between borrowers and lenders in syndicated loan transactions. In this pivotal role, you will ensure seamless deal execution and ongoing transaction support, from managing cash flows to facilitating amendments and waivers. You will oversee a diverse portfolio of transactions spanning multiple sectors, such as corporate finance, real estate, shipping, infrastructure, and acquisition finance, while collaborating with a wider EMEA agency platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal Closing
    • Review facility documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and LMA/LSTA standards.
    • Collaborate with the business and legal counsel to negotiate and finalise agreements.
    • Gather required information for onboarding new deals, ensuring accurate reflection in LoanIQ.
    • Liaise with legal counsel to fulfil CPs and manage the deal closing process, including funds flow coordination.
  • Transaction Management
    • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage amendments, waivers, and consents.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for deal-related queries and escalate issues where necessary.
    • Actively participate in meetings and calls with business areas and external parties to ensure smooth operation.
    • Facilitate syndicate calls and meetings as needed.
  • Investigation and Problem Resolution
    • Confidently review loan documentation and use tools like Excel to investigate and resolve ad hoc issues.
    • Reconcile nostro breaks promptly to mitigate risk to the bank.
  • Operational Oversight
    • Oversee offshore teams to ensure high-quality delivery of day-to-day activities, including drawdowns, repayments, margin adjustments, secondary transfers, and covenant monitoring.
    • Provide support to offshore teams to maintain a client-focused, control-conscious product.

Candidate Profile

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of Loans Agency experience in a comparable role.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret credit agreements.
  • Working knowledge of LoanIQ.
  • Exposure to structured finance sectors, including real estate, acquisition, shipping, and infrastructure finance.
  • Familiarity with DebtDomain and ClearPar systems.
  • Experience as a security agent.
