The Opportunity

A leading specialist bank is seeking an experienced Deal Manager to join its Corporate Lending Operations team. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with a strong background in documentation review, deal execution, and LoanIQ system management, who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The team acts as the primary internal contact for lending operations, ensuring transactions are managed efficiently with a focus on risk mitigation, data quality, and client service. This is a chance to work in a flat-structured, entrepreneurial culture that values internal mobility, innovation, and a 'can-do' attitude.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal Execution: Book new deals (bilateral, agency, and syndicated participations) and facilities in the lending source system, ensuring accuracy and data integrity. Manage deal amendments, restructures, and security builds in the system. Govern initial pay‑away conditions and track all subsequent conditions, including credit‑defined sell‑downs. Collate and retain transaction documentation (e.g., Withholding Tax forms like W8/W9). Complete and handover transaction notes to the servicing team within SLA.
  • Deal Lifecycle Management: Monitor overdue covenants, breaches, and security valuations, escalating issues as needed. File documentation in accordance with policies and oversee reconciliations to resolve complex breaks. Manage arrears communications with business lines, credit, and support teams. Produce risk event write‑ups and analysis to address gaps and reduce operational risks. Oversee data ownership for your portfolio, including terminations, fee movements, and clean‑up of small balances. Handle client queries and provide ad hoc cover for team members.
  • Reporting & Stakeholder Management: Own and drive the production and accuracy of data for BU dashboards, ensuring it is utilised effectively across the bank. Produce Desk-Level MI and KRI reports for leadership, summarising outcomes of meetings and initiatives.

Core Skills & Knowledge

  • Technical Expertise: Strong experience with LoanIQ and building deals, along with the ability to interpret complex credit, ancillary, and security documentation.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant financial regulations.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to problem‑solve, analyse data, and optimise processes in a high‑volume environment.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Emotional Intelligence: High self‑motivation, coachability, and accountability, with a positive and collaborative approach.
  • Resilience: Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities. Familiarity with lending products, risk reporting (market/operational/credit), and downstream financial implications. Experience with dashboard management, MI/KRI reporting, and bank‑wide initiatives.

Why Apply?

  • Hybrid Working: 4 days in the office (London) / 1 day remote.
  • Wellbeing & Benefits: Competitive package including pension, discretionary bonus, private medical options, wellbeing subsidies, and more.
  • Culture: A supportive, inclusive environment where you’re encouraged to innovate, collaborate, and grow.
