The role is for an experienced sheet metal fabricator to work in a busy fabrication shop to produce both standard and bespoke equipment used in the quality control / NDT sector. This will encompass all aspects of fabrication, including:
- MIG and TIG welding (typically 1.5 to 10mm thick material)
- Marking out, drilling and tapping to close tolerances
- Operating associated fabrication equipment
Employment would start on a 6 month fixed term contract with a permanent contract offered to the right candidates on completion of that 6 month period.
Experience required (Essential):
- MIG & TIG welding of stainless steel and mild steel
- Work with stainless steel to a high-quality finish
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Experience of operating guillotines and bending machines
- Basic math and problem solving skills
- Marking out, drilling and tapping to close tolerances
The person:
- Effective communication and organisational skills
- A team player with the ability to work independently
- Able to work to tight deadlines under pressure, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Must have the right to work in the UK and a clean criminal background
