The Production Supervisor leads the day‑to‑day activities of an hourly production team for a single product line, ensuring operations run according to production specifications, schedules, volume, cost, wastage targets and quality standards. The supervisor coordinates training, enforces safety guidelines, and interfaces with other departments to support production. The role requires working 12‑hour shifts on a 28‑day DuPont schedule (four‑night shifts, three days off, three‑day shifts, one day off, three‑night shifts, three days off, four‑day shifts, then seven days off).
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and provide direction to a 30+ person production team.
- Plan and schedule equipment utilization to maintain maximum productivity levels.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive, inclusive work environment and reduce turnover.
- Investigate root causes of scrap, process excursions, quality complaints and fire investigations.
- Ensure the team understands and complies with safety, environmental, quality and process controls.
- Use key operating indicators to control product cost, material usage, machine downtime and expenditure.
- Accurately submit hours worked to payroll for all production employees.
- Transmit production performance statistics and concerns to Production Shift Leaders, Maintenance, and Superintendent, and recommend improvements.
- Prepare labor, material and equipment usage reports.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Execute performance evaluations, pay reviews, hiring and termination.
Qualifications
- High School diploma and a minimum of 3 years of operational leadership experience in manufacturing.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of production processes.
- Strong aptitude for learning and understanding company policies.
- Solid understanding of OSHA regulations.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of SAP or ERP systems.
- Ability to work 12‑hour rotating shifts on the DuPont schedule.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience managing a typical manufacturing environment, including exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, cold, noise, mechanical parts, dust and fumes.
- Minimal travel required (0–10 days per year).
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.

Compensation
Pay Range: $84,200.00 – $115,800.00 annual. This is the base salary range; actual pay will vary based on experience, skills and education.
