As a PRN Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you are pivotal in providing comprehensive respiratory care and evaluating patients with respiratory illnesses. You will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with others, ensuring patient care meets quality standards established by the hospital, department, and regulatory agencies. You are accountable for maintaining all skills and knowledge necessary to provide safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate respiratory care to all ages of patients from neonate to adolescent. Along with other members of the care team, you will be responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high standards of care provided by JHACH.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assess patient’s clinical status, evaluate progress toward goals, and recommend courses of action to determine a plan of care.
  • Plan for patient’s respiratory care needs in collaboration with other members of the care team to provide the highest quality of clinical outcomes.
  • Safely perform various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established standards, procedural guidelines, and policies to provide safe patient care.
  • Analyze critical situations and apply appropriate judgement and critical thinking to achieve problem resolution.
  • Accurately and reliably interpret and communicate patient results to support patient care.
  • Document interventions performed and response to therapies in the electronic medical record to result in compliant and useful documentation.
  • Interact with and explain therapeutic modalities to patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team in an understandable manner based on learning styles and individual diversity to ensure collaborative care coordination.
  • Effectively work in a team-based environment, especially during stressful situations involving quickly changing priorities to achieve the highest quality of patient outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Current Florida Respiratory Therapist Licensure.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NRBC) OR current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) OR an equivalent credential acceptable to the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Must be a graduate from a Registered Respiratory Therapy Program approved by the Commission of Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; no experience required for New graduate Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Current PALS certification from the American Heart Association or must be obtained within 120-day orientation period.
  • Current NRP certification if working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Salary Range: Minimum 41.00/hour - Maximum 41.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
